Just some Stollel Updates...

MISSING STOLLEL MEMBER DISCOVERED

People have been concerned about the whereabouts of a certain Stollel member.
I managed to get in touch with him. He is safe and sound and it is true what they say, he has reached the holy soil.

STOLLEL SELICHOS

There has been an expressed interest in a Stollel Selichos (Right now we're speaking about opening night selichos (i.e. the first motzei Shabbos)...more to come about possible post-opening-night selichos events). The Stokars have agreed to host and we anticipate it will be a full event, however, just to make sure please comment if you think you are interested in attending.

HaRav MTW said that he would love to speak before hand for those who are interested and selichos will be led by one of the pious members of the chevra who has experience in singing in a public forum. Essentially the line up looks like this...

KITZUR SHULCHAN ARUCH CHAZARA

We had our first chazara session for the halachos we have been learning daily in the zechus of a refuah sheleimah for Raffi. It seems (depending on whether R' Zev Reichman continues his Likutei Moharan shiur) we will do it weekly on Thursdays at 12:30ish. It's a good opportunity to gather, learn bi'tzibbur, and talk about the current matzav and what more we can do to help.

Anybody who does not get the daily reminders of the hachlatos and would like to should get in touch with hachlatosforrafi@gmail.com.

WE'RE BEING WATCHED

Since the return to Y.U. I have discovered that a number of people discovered our Stollel blogging site over this summer. This is very exciting.

    I will be the first to initiate response - i am all for it - i have spoken with the chazan at length and he is well versed in the kavanos. I think this is a swell idea and will be a night of inspiring prayer as we prepare to crown our Maker.
    P.S. Shkoyach on the missing stollel member report - i am greatly relieved.
    P.P.S. Tonight (9th of Elul) is Rav Tzaddok's yahrtzeit...thought the chevra should be aware...

    i dont know for sure but i hope that b'ezras Hashem ill be able to make it... ive heard the chazan shlit"a lead slichos many times before (late night break-away 6th floor morg lounge invitation only slichos-> circa 2005) and i certainly would hate to miss his legendary comeback

    i think that sounds fine. hey, what do you think about this? now that the new beis medrah is open, perhaps the old main (feels like bnai yeshurun now) will be unoccupied during the nightly selichot. perhaps we can have a nightly stollel alternative selichot throughout the tekufah of the 10 days of teshuva in the old main beis medrash. that would be pashut nuts. my goodness.

    This is good - i am liking the excitement for this very important event in stollel history...
    (lets see who is crazy enough to mention r.h./yom kippur...) The chazzan told me that it may run straight into vasikin so everybody better brace themselves...
