Placelessness...

Stollel 2010
is quickly approaching...

With Rabbeinu Yitzchak's having a supposed full two week break there is opportunity for a solid chunk of Stollel activity.

Different people have different schedules this year and as such one should not expect a repeat of last year. Not that it will be worse but it will be different. The main concern as of now is finding a location to house the Stollel.

Different ideas were mentioned in a post-Glueck ma'ariv hock feat. prison-break Raffi but nothing has been officially agreed upon.

Let's think together. Post below.

Main things to keep in mind
(though it could be that we will have to sacrifice some of those things which we had last year):

1) It's good to have a kitchen/room with couches on premises
2) It's good to be based somewhere where people can pop in an out if they can't commit to full days of Stollel activity
3) It's good if this place is not being occupied by anyone but the Stollel

  1. well, the shul in mt. kisco would be great, but that violates rules #1 & #2.
stoke's house would be great again, but that violates rule #3.
Also, re: rule #1, does the kitchen have to have couches in it?...not chopping that so much...

  4. What happened to the original stollel headquarters? I thought Stoke booked his parents out?
Perhaps we can build a tree house in the forest? Maybe we can take over the weinberg's/tzavei's basement? Maybe we can rent a house...i know that sounds a little out there but i bet we could if we tried hard - or maybe there is a house for sale which has nothing in it that we could borrow?
Also, i think we have to strive for a repeat of last year - it saddens me to think that the intensity of the original stollel will not be captured. People have to get their priorities worked out - stollel first, everything else 2nd.
Whats gonna be...i am bi'katnus hamochin....
I think Raffi should just tell us all what to do...

  5. by the way, before alicht or myn bruder yell at me, i wrote "chopping" in my previsou comment. now, obviously i did not mean to say "cutting into smaller pieces," but rather the yiddish word which i believe means to understand. am i correct with that translation, srulii?

  6. shoot, now i realized a misprint, so before anyone yells at me for that either, i did not mean to write "previsou," but rather "previous." thank you.

  12. I thought one of the main things to keep in mind would be to have a mikva in close proxiimity, but i realized that dealing w/ Stollel that is obvious.

  18. @ zlou - you're 100% right. I just wanted to find an excuse to type "Geshmakness Monster," in order to get roasted by HaAdmor.
