Rosh Stollel Gives Shiur to Daughters of Israel

The Rosh Stollel gave a shiur this past week to some Daugheters of Israel. He sent the following message in a recent telegram:

"Last night i had the zechus of speaking at stern college on the first yahrtzeit of the loss of the 8 holy souls at merkaz harav. The shiur was on Adar and Achdus. Hope you enjoy - it should be an aliyah for their neshamos... "

It is posted at one of these links. See if you can guess which one:

26 Days and Counting...

I was at a bris last erev Shabbos with Rav Simon. While eating the standard bagel and juice breakfast, R' Elie Mischel informed me that the assistant rabbi in Shomrei Torah (R' Yudin's shul in Fairlawn, N.J.) had mentioned the Stollel in his Shabbos morning derasha.

On motzei Shabbos while selling S-Block's with Rafi at the SOY Seforim Sale, my
alter brother, the Rosh Kollel, told me that one of his friends wanted to see the Stollel continue, perhaps through the summer, and would help raise funds to make it happen.

The common denominator is that people want the Stollel to live on, to burn on, and to give off a little warmth in this long and cold exile. It is only a matter of time before everything will fall into place but until that time we must stay strong in our mission.

[Also, my Grandmother is having surgery today so if you could keep Sheindel Perel bas Tzirel Pesha (a very yiddishe name indeed) in mind in your tefillos today, it would mean a lot.]

Nameless

As many of the Underground Chassidim know, a few of the members of the Stollel have formed a music group and are now performing at engagement parties, l'chaims, and vorts across the tri-state area.

The band is made up of:
Sruli Rapps, Josh Zlotnick and....Huh?

Anyways, we are looking for a name for our musical group.

Sruli continuously thinks we are called "
Tzavei Yeshuos Ya'akov." Everyone knows that is too long. Some have suggested just "Tzavei" which is also a possibility. The name that is in the running at the moment is "Reishit."

Post Your Thoughts and Suggestions!

The Tu B'Svhat Seder was a great success. Thank you to all who helped put it together and to the Rebbe R' Reichman for his words of Torah and fruits from the Tosher Rebbe.

May we be zoche to esrogim and hearts as big as this...

Next Stop...Guildford?

What do you get when you make the following calculation:

= MESTOLLEL!

Rav Shalom Rosner, rebbe at Reishit Yerushalayim and head of Chinuch Staff in Camp Mesorah, was in the Heights recently conducting interviews for young yungerman who might be interested in joining the Mesorah Chinuch Staff. The job is well paying, covers food, room, board and one trip to the Chinengo County Fair. There are limited spots for those who wish to acquire this paying summer job.

However, a number of Stollel Members have expressed interest in possibly relocating the Stollel to Guilford, NY and learning (for free) in the Mesorah Kollel with a hope to bring the camp and campers a little bit of Stollel flavor.

We told Rav Rosner the idea. He sounded interested (though I'm not sure he totally understood how deep the Stollel really is.) Regardless, we want to see if there is sufficient interest (or any interest) for this endeavor amongst those who are not necceserilly planning right now to go to Eretz Yisrael this summer.
