I was at a bris last erev Shabbos with Rav Simon. While eating the standard bagel and juice breakfast, R' Elie Mischel informed me that the assistant rabbi in Shomrei Torah (R' Yudin's shul in Fairlawn, N.J.) had mentioned the Stollel in his Shabbos morning derasha.
On motzei Shabbos while selling S-Block's with Rafi at the SOY Seforim Sale, my alter brother, the Rosh Kollel, told me that one of his friends wanted to see the Stollel continue, perhaps through the summer, and would help raise funds to make it happen.
The common denominator is that people want the Stollel to live on, to burn on, and to give off a little warmth in this long and cold exile. It is only a matter of time before everything will fall into place but until that time we must stay strong in our mission.
[Also, my Grandmother is having surgery today so if you could keep Sheindel Perel bas Tzirel Pesha (a very yiddishe name indeed) in mind in your tefillos today, it would mean a lot.]

The assistant rabbi in Shomrei Torah (R' Yudin's shul in Fairlawn, N.J.) grew up in Plainview, what a small world (and for those of you who didn't know he is also a reishit guy)... we had a shul basketball tournament like 10 years ago, and I was on his team... we were co-champs!
ReplyDeleteOn a more somber note, Refuah Shelama to sheindel perel bas Tzirel Pesha.
Good Shabbos!

ReplyDeletei didnt know plainview was a real place where ppl actually lived....i always thought mike eisman just made it up so that he could make up stories that nobody could verify....
ReplyDeleteReuah sh'leimah indeed.
(This post is referring to the last entry about naming the band I just thought there would be more chance that someone would read it if I posted it on the newest entry)- I thought about it over shabbat- I really think you could call your band stollel (ppl will just think its some hebrew word they never heard of)
ReplyDeletegood he'ara moonbaz. i think stollel might actually mean something maybe in some other language that might not yet exist.
